I've been trying to organize my 40k/terrain stuff and have come to a conclusion. I think I might be a hoarder. I have so much stuff and can't even seem to make a dent in cleaning up this mess. So much stuff. No organization. I really want to start back on my scenery, and actually start painting my models.

I just don't even know where to start. I've negotiated for control of the garage to become a small workshop space for terrain and other stuff and can't even get my den organized.

I don't even know what I have at this point.

I'm usually a fastidiously clean person and everything has a fine coat of dust and it's freaking me out. I got really depressed over the late fall/early winter and let everything go to crap. Now that I'm motivated to do stuff again it just seems so over whelming. I feel like I'm living in a storage shed that was hit by a tornado.

I'm venting.

I'm just going to keep posting until I feel better.

Try this.

Take all items that are "easy to get" and pitch them. Don't even think about it. Just pitch it.
Take all hard to get itesm and put it in 2-3 tubs. Anything that doesn't fit in said tubs. Pitch it

you are not cleaning up your place all at once. You are cleaning up/organizing/whatever THAT bit right there. Don't sweat the rest of it, clean up/organize/whatever THAT bit right there. When done, work on THAT bit next to it.

if you really just need a hand, I just sorted two rooms full of boxes, it takes a while, but I can come help for a bit. easiest thing is to pile things by army, then by type (assault marines, bikes etc) and sell whatever is clearly excessive... there's a swap meet on the 10th, and I've done tons of ebay and forum trading if you want/need to go that route for some stuff.

Keep it all. Start making terrain. Give us a chance to buy it and throw it up on Ebay. Make some clams!

We'll start a support group.

I've got about 45 diffetent 2000 point armies in the box, unpainted, unassembled. ANd enough terrain to cover all the tables in Brittany's. (All of them!) unassembled. Unpainted. Heck, I own 41 Superheavies (Plastic BB, SS kits, FW BBs, Malcador, Macharius)

I need an intervention, and about 5 years to build and paint.

that's just wow. BUT if you do toss any of it, please let me know I wouldn't mind taking more of it.

For the longest time I thought I was a plastic crack whore. Now I realize I am just a impulse buyer.

I have three army boxes (the 1' tall ones) full of cut sprue for grinding into rubble for cities of death scenery basing.

Ask Purdune what I showed up with last time. All of it from kits I've desprued in my basement.

I have THE RAVENWING (all 106 Marines on bikes or Land Speeders), I have Half the Deathwing (50 Terminators). I have the Dark Angels 9th Company (all Devastator squads except for the Command Squad). I have 45 Grey Knight Terminators and over 60 PAs. I ahve a Marine Compay of Rogue Trader Beakies (Thanks,Don.)

LOL, I have a SM company with all LR transports, preditor platoon, and a Warlord Titan to back them up. I thought I was the badest on the block!

i use eg cartons to organize my bits. i label one for my nids, one for marines and one for orks, but hey, thats just me...
